I know there is never enough talk about EPROMS...
I'm so happy with my bike I just want to share the experience. My bike is an 04 Tuono R, derestricted with early inlet boot, Evo air filter and an Arrow titanium slip-on with the baffle in. Gearing is 16x44.
The stock EPROM ran extremely smooth but had an annoying hesitation when abruptly opening the throttle. I'm sure it was likely running too lean so this was not an option.
I ran the Factory Pro EPROM for several months and I liked the power but just could not get along with the jerky throttle transitions and funky cold start issues.
Next I tried the Arrow 11014ME. This was much smoother (throttle transitions and neutral throttle cruising) but had much less punch than the F.P. I would have stuck with this one if I had not spotted the next one for sale here by a forum member.
The one I purchased from a forum member is the RSC TI from Aprilia. It is labeled "RSV Super-Eprom D" and is apparently the one that comes with the Aprilia titanium slip-on. I plugged it in with the throttle body air bleed screws set exactly as they were when delivered new (open 1.25 turns rear and 1.5 front), and the CO trim pots both set at 12:00 (I've read that this chip activates the trim pots). I rode the bike about 250 miles today and this is the best it has ever run. The idle is PERFECTLY smooth at 1,300 rpm. Throttle transitions are silky smooth. Neutral throttle cruising at 60mph in top gear is so smooth you can barely feel the engine running. Whack the throttle open from 4k rpm and it pulls hard, feels just as hard as the F.P. chip. Engine braking effect is also reduced, as it was with the F.P. There may be other options out there that would show 1 or 2 HP more on a Dyno, but I don't think this setup can be beat for rideability.
